How to Make a Room a Home

It is often said that your home should tell the story of who you are and be a collection of what you love. When transitioning into your Karingal Green home, no matter what room package you choose for yourself or loved one, it’s important to have personal touches to feel more familiar and create a sense of home.

At Karingal Green, the luxurious and spacious living areas are designed with our residents in mind. We have a variety of room sizes and packages to choose from, including classic, premium or deluxe single suites or premium or deluxe companion rooms and premium suites. Once you’ve chosen the package that suits your requirements, you can move onto the fun part… personalising! We have prepared some easy and affordable ways to make your room a little more personal

1. Photos

Showcase your memories by displaying your personal photos of family, friends and adventures in photo frames or albums in your room. This is an easy and inexpensive way to transform your space and bring you joy. You will be surprised at how just a few pictures can make your room feel more like yours.

2. Accessorise with textiles

Have a favourite blanket or throw? Add some personality to your bed or couch by styling your favourite throw on these pieces. Not to mention, you can also cosy up with it when you desire something familiar. Get creative with stylized cushions and make your room a peaceful and beautiful place to retreat to after a busy day of socialising.

3. Indoor plants

Get close to nature from right inside your room by including indoor plants. Not only are houseplants a stylish and affordable way of getting a nature fix, there are studies that show they may improve air quality and promote mental health benefits. There are also many indoor plants that require little effort and maintenance so you won’t have to worry about being a green thumb. One of our favourites include Peace Lilies (Spathiphyllum) which require low sunlight exposure and moist soil. If plants aren’t your thing, a vase of fresh flowers will bring life and freshness to your living space.

4. Books

Not just for reading, books also add colour and personality to your room so get creative with how you utilise your already installed state of the art book shelves and cabinets in your Karingal Green room. Personal items and trinkets can also be displayed amongst your books which will enhance the cosy, welcoming and relaxing mood to your room. Play with the symmetry of your display, and position your new and old belongings in a way that appeals to your tastes.

5. Accessorise you night stand

The nightstand is an area that often gets overlooked when it comes to moving in, but can be transformed into a special point of joy in your room. Keeping a balance of organisation and creativity, try to designate particular spots for certain items. For example, having a decorative tray for your reading glasses or a coaster set up for a glass of water, will keep your bed-side table clear and beautiful. The nightstand is also a great place to include personal items and photos so you wake up to a positive memory every morning.
